Every year at the SPCA Auckland Animal Village in Mangere we care for between 16,000 and 18,000 animals that have been lost, abandoned, injured, or abused.
The first stop for any animal brought into the SPCA Auckland Animal Village is the Village Hospital where every animal gets their second chance at life. Here our veterinary staff check them over and give them the medical care they need.
Animals that are really sick or have had surgery and need some time to recover are fostered
out into volunteers’ homes. Here they are given time to get well again, and receive a little extra TLC before they are brought back to the Village, ready to go up for adoption.
